In an interview with Empire, Kevin Feige revealed a new detail about Iron Man's latest scene in "Avengers 4: Endgame," which has a special meaning for his actor Robert Downey Jr.
That Iron Man's final victim and his triumph over the titan Thanos is the last scene that Robert Downey Jr. filmed on the set of "Avengers 4: Endgame" already has a certain poetry to it. After all, the scene is not only the end of the character but also the culmination of 22 films. At the same time, it is also an allusion to the end of "Iron Man" (2008), so on the very first MCU appearance of the actor.
As Kevin Feige has revealed to Empire, the moment Iron Man smashes Thanos' armies with a snip, but another parallels to the Marvel debut of the mega-star that has hitherto been hidden from the audience: the place where Iron Man's last exploit was shot, it is exactly the same area of the studio in which Downey Jr. then, even before he was officially cast as Iron Man, played his very first scene as Tony Stark.
For the coveted role that was to help him to make his comeback and world fame, the actor completed during his audition namely full-length test shots, which were recorded exactly in the same place as the last triumphant moment of the character in "Endgame". These test shots show scenes that can be seen in a slightly different form than in the finished film. This is the first encounter between Tony Stark and journalist Christine Everhart (Leslie Bibb) and the conversation between Tony Stark and the soldiers during the car ride at the beginning of the film.
