Pirates of the Caribbean has been one of Disney's greatest hits and The Mickey Mouse House wants to repeat the formula by creating a new story from one of Disneyland's attractions with Jungle Cruise. The film, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, arrives in theaters in the United States on July 24, 2020 - still without a release date in Spain - and features Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson as protagonists. The film has been one of the protagonists of the D23 and, through some advances that Disney has not officially published, has revealed new details of the project.
Jungle Cruise, set in the 19th century, follows a ship captain and the scientist who recruits him for an ambitious mission: to find a mystical tree inside the jungle. During his presentation, Johnson has taken the stage of the convention on top of the La Quila ship - which will be part of the film - to introduce two trailers. The first begins in the Amazon (Brazil) and in it, Johnson's character tells the travelers of his ship: “Everything you see wants to kill you. And you can do it. ” As they indicate in Screen Rant, Johnson's character is a scammer who makes a living by creating the false experience of a jungle, but when Blunt asks for help to achieve his goal he must face some very real and supernatural monsters.
After this preview, Blunt has joined the actor to present the second trailer. This, told from the character of the actress, begins in London with her talking about this mystical tree with healing powers that lies deep in the Amazon. As we have told you to live through our Twitter account, Johnson has joked during the presentation that Jungle Cruise is a movie that "saves the girl" and Blunt has denied it.
The film features Jack Whitehall, Jesse Plemons, Édgar Ramírez, Paul Giamatti and also with a Spanish presence with the signings of Quim Gutiérrez and Dani Rovira.
