The new reboot of the film adaptation of Resident Evil would be in charge of the production company Screen Gems, in charge of the previous films in the saga. This feature film would be based on the Capcom video games, representing the events in the most faithful way seen so far.

As reported exclusively by the portal The Illuminerdi, the production company has offered the role of Jill Valentine to Hannah John-Kamen, an actress we have already seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing Ghost, the villain of Ant-Man and the Wasp. John-Kamen is also known for having appeared in series like Game of Thrones or Black Mirror and movies like Killjoys or Ready Player One.
The media also points out that the film will be directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down), something we have known for a long time, and its co-writer will be Greg Russo, in charge of the script for the new Mortal Kombat reboot. Its producers will be Margo Klewans and Robert Kulzer, and the budget is endowed with between 30 and 40 million dollars. As expected, filming, initially scheduled for June, has been postponed due to the coronavirus.

There's also a Resident Evil series up and running for Netflix, though unfortunately it has suffered the same fate as the filming of the movie and has been indefinitely canceled by the coronavirus. If the plans had gone well, by mid-2021 we could have had the series at home.
These are bad times for the great wave of productions planned to start throughout 2020, or for those that were to be released. This also means that we will see 2021 and 2022 loaded with works from the entertainment industry, so many that it will be difficult to choose. One of the last to move on the calendar is John Wick: Chapter 4, the highly anticipated action movie starring Keanu Reeves.
