After "Avatar 2" was also forced to take a break from the corona, it will soon be possible to shoot again - reason enough for producer Jon Landau to share a new picture of the set, on which we get to see a rather nasty vehicle.

"Avatar 2" falls into the water - or at least the cast and crew as well as a lot of the latest technology that is necessary for the mega-blockbuster. Because the sequel to James Cameron's sci-fi mega-hit "Avatar - Departure for Pandora" largely takes place in or underwater. This was recently shown by a wet and happy snapshot of Kate Winslet and Co., who now jumps into the cold water again for Cameron after "Titanic".

After filming in New Zealand broke down in the past few weeks due to the corona pandemic, things can finally continue in a few days. To celebrate, producer Jon Landau is now giving new behind-the-scenes insights that now show more than just a few actors splashing about:

According to Landau, we can see the jetboat "Picador" and the high-speed command ship "Matador" - including technical gadgets such as a harpoon device and glass roof elements for all-round visibility. In any case, the whole thing really makes you want more and gives you a good foretaste of the usual well-thought-out technologies, which tech enthusiasts and revolutionary James Cameron will use in the sequel.

CINEMA RELEASES AT 2021
After the release of "Avatar 2" had been postponed over the past few years, however, after a break of several weeks, the last scheduled date is being maintained: "Avatar 2" should continue to be released in German cinemas on December 15, 2021.

The next sequel should not take another 10 years. "Avatar 3", which will be filmed together with "Avatar 2", is scheduled for release on December 20, 2023. "Avatar 4" (release date: December 17, 2025) and "Avatar 5" (release date: December 15, 2027) will follow later.

ON DISNEY +: "AVATAR" WITH SMASHES
If you can no longer expect to see Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver), Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), and Co., you have to be content with the first part. If you subscribe to Disney + or want to test the streaming service for seven days free of charge, you will also see “Avatar” there - if only in the theatrical version (162 minutes) and only in 2D.

Those who can’t get enough of Pandora are much better served with the Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray. Because it also contains the eight minutes longer extended theatrical version and the 16 minutes longer extended cut. For 3D enthusiasts, streaming should also not be a real alternative, for them there is 3D Blu-ray.
